Vinny Project -
Bridging VINNY’s research and practice: WGS organises living lab
VINNY’S partner HBLA und Bundesamt Klosterneuburg für Wein und Obstbau is organising the first of the Project’s Living Labs, on December 9th.
The event will serve as a crucial platform for discussing and demonstrating strategies for future-proof viticulture, with a specific focus on sustainable plant protection and vine nutrition.
The core mission of the event is to bridge the gap between academic research and practical application, ensuring that current developments and the latest VINNY Project results are accessible to winemakers, the wider agricultural community, and individuals outside the scientific community.
The comprehensive program includes a full day of presentations and discussions led by experts from various institutions, including HBLA und BA Klosterneuburg, BOKU Wien, Landwirtschaftskammer Niederösterreich, and the Austrian Institute of Technology.
The morning will prominently feature the VINNY Project’s work on advanced nano-encapsulation of bio-based pesticides and fertilisers for circular and sustainable viticulture. Following a lunch break, the afternoon will cover broader modern viticulture topics, highlighting the NETmicroplastic and Innovation Farm projects, and will conclude with a cellar tour.
Participation in the Living Lab is free, but registration is required due to limited capacity. Individuals should email andreas.harm@weinobst.at to secure their attendance.
Participants may also receive two hours of credit toward their plant protection certificate (a €10 fee applies). Don't miss this opportunity to engage directly with leading researchers and contribute to a more sustainable future for viticulture.
