The VINNY Project was recognised with an Honourable Mention in the Scientific Research category at the first edition of the Atlantic Wines Awards, held on 14th June in Valença, North of Portugal. The award ceremony took place during Vinhos do Atlântico – Festa da Ribeira Minho, an international event celebrating the culture and excellence of Atlantic wine production.

This distinction highlights VINNY’s significant contribution to advancing sustainable viticulture through research and innovation. The Project’s focus on developing bio-based nanotechnological solutions for vineyards aligns with the event’s mission to promote scientific approaches and environmentally responsible practices within the wine sector.

Organised to honour initiatives that strengthen the identity and quality of Atlantic wines in the Galicia–Vinho Verde Euro-region, the awards were decided by a cross-border jury. The Honourable Mention is a non-competitive recognition that underscores VINNY’s impact in areas such as scientific outreach, knowledge generation, and cultural valorisation.

The VINNY consortium is proud of this recognition, which reflects the project’s relevance not only in technical terms but also in its broader contribution to the visibility and sustainability of European viticulture. This achievement reinforces VINNY’s role in shaping a forward-looking wine industry rooted in cooperation and innovation.
